DAILY LIFE IN MEDIEVAL SERBIA
The Institute for Balkan Studies of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts and the publishing house Clio published a joint English edition of the book DAILY LIFE IN MEDIEVAL SERBIA authored by Marko Popović, Smilja Marjanović Dušanić and Danica Popović. The book provides a review of research findings on the subject and offers comparisons with Western Europe, Byzantium and the neighbouring lands. The focus is on the individual, from the ruler, the nobleman, the urban and rural worker to the soldier and the man of the church, and their views of the world and their immediate environment, their habits and beliefs. Political, economic and cultural histories are combined and intertwined to provide a more comprehensive insight into a distant epoch that is frequently looked at from the perspective of the chronological sequence of events.
