The symposium of the International Work Group for Palaeoethnobotany

The symposium of the International Work Group for Palaeoethnobotany (IWGP) every three years gathers archaeobotanists, archaeologists, ethnobotanists from around the world. This year the meeting took place in Paris, 4-9 July, in the venues of the Jardin des Plantes. Dr Dragana Filipovic, research associate at the Institute for Balkan Studies, contributed an oral presentation entitled What’s under the rubble? Exploring and comparing botanical inventories of the Neolithic Vinča houses and a poster on Exploring variations in crop storage and discard practices across Neolithic sites in Serbia. The presentations showed results produced within the project "Society, spiritual and material culture and communications in prehistory and early history of the Balkans" (Ref. 177012).
