Dr Dragana Filipović at the Annual Meeting of the Serbian Archaeological Society

At the Annual Meeting of the Serbian Archaeological Society, organised by the Vršac City Museum 2-4 June 2016, Dr Dragana Filipović, research associate at the Institute for Balkan Studies, presented two papers. The paper "First analysis of archaeological stable isotopes in Serbia: measuring δ13C values in charred fruit stones of Cornelian cherry" is an outcome of the recently initiated collaboration between Dr Filipović and the Department for Analytical Chemistry, Faculty of Chemistry in Belgrade which is aimed at introducing new scientific methods into archaeological research in Serbia. The second paper, entitled "Exploring early farming diets and population dynamics in the Neolithic central Balkans" presents the results of a project carried out at the Laboratory for Bioarchaeology, Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade that Dr Filipović has had successful collaboration with.
