Dr MIroslav Svirčević, research fellow of the Institute for Balkan Studies SASA, has suddenly died on August 10, 2014, age 44. Dr Svirčević was a prominent legal historian, an expert for local self-government in Serbia and Bulgaria.  Our Institute has published his monograph "Development of Local Government and the Development of Modern Serbian State" (2011). Dr Svirčević has published several books and dozens of articles, studies and reviews.
