The 19th Biennial Conference on Balkan and South Slavic Linguistics, Literature and Folklore

Research associate Dr. Marija Ilić participated at the 19th Biennial Conference on Balkan and South Slavic Linguistics, Literature and Folklore will take place organized by the Center for East European and Russian/Eurasian Studies at the University of Chicago (USA), from the 25th to the 27th April in 2014. The conference was attended by more than 50 participants from 12 different countries, who presented 45 papers. Dr. Marija Ilić presented the co-authored paper with Dr. Mirjana Detelić (Institute for Balkan Studies SASA) entitled "Epic Formula and Toponym *bělъjь gordъ ’White City’: From the Perspective of the Color Naming Debate". Dr. Marija Ilić also presented the co-authored paper with Dr. Bojan Belić (University of Washington) named “Notes from the Edges of Europe: Balkan Language Emancipation vs. Nordic Language Emancipation”.
