International scholarly conference devoted to the history and culture of the region of Valašsko (Wallachia), eastern Moravia

Dr. Miloš Luković, research associate of the Institute for Balkan Studies, took part in the international scholarly conference devoted to the history and culture of the region of Valašsko (Wallachia), eastern Moravia, which was held in Rožnov pod Radhoštěm, Czech Republic, on 18–20 September 2103, and organised by the Wallachian Open Air Museum (Rožnov pod Radhoštěm), the Institute for Regional Studies (Ostrava), the Centre for Economic and Social History (Ostrava) and the Faculty of Philosophy, University of Ostrava. Dr. Luković gave a powerpoint presentation in Czech: “Wallachian law as a basis of Wallachian colonisation – a comparison with Vlach law in the Balkans”. The proceedings of the conference will be published in the course of 2014. On 25 and 26 September, at the invitation of the Institute for European Ethnology, Masaryk University, Brno, Dr. Luković delivered two lectures to undergraduate and postgraduate students, both in Czech: “Traditional animal husbandry in the Balkans” and “Serbia: past, present, ethnicity, culture”.
