Theory and Practice of Linguistic Landscape research on East-Central European Minorities

Marija Ilić, research associate of the Institute for Balkan Studies, Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, took part in the one-day conference on the Theory and Practice of Linguistic Landscape research on East-Central European Minorities (A nyelvi tájkép elmélete és gyakorlata: Kárpát-medencei kisebbségi körkép) organised in Budapest, Hungary, on 23 May 2013 by the Research Centre for Multilingualism of the Research Institute for Linguistics, Hungarian Academy of Sciences. Marija Ilić presented a paper in co-authorship with Sanda Buljanović of the Chair of Hungarian Language and Literature, University of Belgrade: “Hungarian in the linguistic landscape of Serbia: A comparison between Belgrade, Pančevo and Debeljača”, and a co-authored paper with Pero Lastić of the Serbian Institute in Budapest: “Serbian in the linguistic landscape of Hungary: roads, streets and civic spaces”.
