Dušan T. Bataković, the director of the Institute for Balkan Studies SASA, took part in a scholarly symposium regarding the First World War, under the title of Der Sinn des Krieges. Politische Ziele und militärische Instrumente der kriegführenden Parteien von 1914-1918. The symposium lasted from the 21st to the 23rd of March, 2013.
