Dragana Đurić at the XVIII Balkan Conference in Moscow

The XVIII Balkan Conference (Balkanskie chteniya) was held at the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Russian Academy of Sciences in Moscow on April 1 and 2, 2025, on the topic "Old and New/Young in the Linguocultural Space of the Balkans". The conference brought together participants from Russia, Greece, Bulgaria, Serbia, and Germany.

Dragana Đurić, PhD, a Research Associate at the Institute for Balkan Studies of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, participated in this international scientific conference with a paper entitled "Symbolism of Youth in the Funeral Rites of the Balkan Slavs". The emphasis of Dr. Đurić's presentation was on the analysis of elements of funeral rites, which relate to youth, but are not related to the topic of „wedding-funeral“, as has been done in previous research.
