International Roundtable at the United Nations in Geneva
Dr. Aleksandra Đurić Milovanović, Principal Research Fellow at the Institute for Balkan Studies of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts (SASA), participated on November 26, 2024, in an international roundtable organized by UNHCR and the UN Peace University at the United Nations headquarters in Geneva, Switzerland. The roundtable, titled Stalking Dialogues – Local Solutions for Peaceful Coexistence, was the first in a series of consultations bringing together scholars, religious communities, and representatives of international organizations to address contemporary migration issues in Europe.
Dr. Đurić Milovanović presented the results of her research on the role of faith based organizations in Serbia in supporting the social inclusion of refugees. The roudtable was opened by Rector of the UPEACE Prof. Francisco Rojas Aravena.
