Book “Sarajevo Assassination: Photographs”
Dr. Miloš Vojinović, a research associate at the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts’ Institute for Balkan Studies, has published the book “Sarajevo Assassination: Photographs.” This work includes, for the first time, all pertinent photographs that showcase the Sarajevo assassination, its main figures, and memorial sites.
In the book, published by the Prometej Publishing House from Novi Sad, the most important photographs of the conspirators can be seen, along with scenes of Sarajevo taken on the day of the assassination. Moreover, the readers will be able to follow Franz Ferdinand's stay in Bosnia and Herzegovina, the military manoeuvres he oversaw, and scenes of the riots that followed in Sarajevo after the assassinationFurther included are photographs from the trial, scenes from the prison in Theresienstadt, photographs taken in the days when the remains of the conspirators were transferred back to the newly-formed Kingdom of Serbs, Croats, and Slovenes, as well as numerous photographs of various commemorations that took place during the 20th century. The photographs are accompanied by the study “Behind the Lens: Photographs of the Sarajevo Assassination as Historical Testimony.”
