The 23rd edition of the International Annual Symposium of the “Alexandru Philippide” Institute of Romanian Philology of the Romanian Academy in Iași
Between October 16–18, 2024, the 23rd edition of the International Annual Symposium of the “Alexandru Philippide” Institute of Romanian Philology was organized by the Romanian Academy (Iași branch). This year’s topic of the symposium (held online) was “Romanian Language, Culture and Identity”, and it gathered more than 100 specialists from Finland, France, Italy, Poland, North Macedonia, the Republic of Moldova, Romania, Serbia, Slovenia, Spain and Hungary. Annemarie Sorescu-Marinković, principal researcher of the Institute for Balkan Studies SASA, was part of the scientific board of the conference, moderated the linguistics section and delivered the lecture titled “The Situation of the Romanian Language in Serbia: Standardization, Contestation and Speakers’ Attitudes” (in Romanian).
