Dr. Miroslav Marić, senior research associate of the Balkan Institute SASA, participated on the 30th Annual conference of the European Association of Archaeologists in Rome, organised at the University of La Sapienza between the 28th and the 31st of August. Dr. Marić, in cooperation with dr. Neda Mirković Marić from the Intermunicipal Heritage protection Institute Subotica and mr. Nenad Jončić from the National Museum of Serbia presented a paper titled „Identifying construction timber with digital scanning techniques – Idjoš Gradište example“ as part of the session number 432 - Residential Building Techniques with Wood and Daub in Prehistory: What We Find and What We Reconstruct, organised by prof. dr. In his expose dr. On the occasion, dr. Marić illustrated the possibility of application of modern digital technologies into creating new research niches that will enable a clearer and wider understanding of prehistory in the Balkans area.
