International conference “Contested Languages in the Old World”

Between May 23 and 25, 2024, the fourth edition of the international linguistic conference “Contested Languages in the Old World” (CLOW4) was organized in Warsaw by the Institute of Slavic Studies of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Within the framework of the conference, dr Annemarie Sorescu-Marinković, principal research fellow of the Institute for Balkan Studies SASA, delivered the lecture entitled “Romanian in Serbia: From Contested Varieties to Standard Languages”. The presentation drew upon the results of the research conducted as part of the “Vulnerable Languages and Linguistic Varieties in Serbia” (VLingS) project, financed by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia within the frame of the IDEAS Program.
