International workshop "Strategies of Sainthood. Local Saints in Premodern Eastern and South-eastern Europe"

Dr Marija Vasiljević, research associate at the Institute for Balkan Studies SASA, participated in the international workshop titled Strategies of Sainthood. Local Saints in Premodern Eastern and South-eastern Europe, that took place in Vienna on May 10 and 11, 2024. The workshop was organized as a joint venture of two projects: MOSCULT - Saint-Making and Institutional Consolidation: The Veneration of Metropolitans in 14th-16th Century Muscovy and ORTHPOL - Orthodoxies and Politics: The Religious Reforms of Mid-17th Century in Eastern and South-Eastern Europe .

Dr Marija Vasiljević's presentation was titled (Re-)Fashioning of a Local Saint in the 17th century Patriarchate of Peć: Noble-Despot-King Stefan Štiljanović.
