International conference "Religious Conversion and Atheization in 20th century Central and Eastern Europe ", Science and Research Centre Koper, Slovenia
The international conference "Religious Conversion and Atheization in 20th century Central and Eastern Europe" was held from April 22 to 24, 2024 at the Science and Research Centre, Koper, Slovenia.
Several members of the Institute for Balkan Studies SASA participated in this event: Aleksandra Djurić Milovanović (PhD), senior research associate, presented the paper entitled “The Influence of Religious Conversion on the Emigration of Neo-Protestants in Socialist Yugoslavia”); Milosav Đoković (PhD), a research associate, presented the paper “The Reaction of the Holy See to the Question of the Conversion of Serbs to Catholicism in the Independent State of Croatia”; Marko Galić (MA), junior research assistant, presented the paper Navigating Faith: Conversion of Seventh Day Adventism and Meaning-Making in the Post-War Bosnia and Herzegovina”. This conference was partly organized within the bilateral project collaboration between Institute for Balkan Studies SASA and Center for Research and Science Koper, entitled Religious Policies and Freedom of Conscience in the interwar and socialist Yugoslavia: the contexts of change (BI-RS-23-25-054). The conference also brought together researchers from several European countries.
