The 17th Panel Discussion of the House of Vuk’s Foundation, The research of the relationship between religion and migrations in Europe: challenges and perspectives was held on Monday 11th of March 2024 in the Foundation’s main hall.

The main discussion was centered around the presentation of the project Connecting Theory and Practical Issues of Migration and Religious Diversity (COREnet), 2021‒2025) funded by the COST EU program. The keynote speakers were Aleksandra Djuric Milovanovic (PhD), senior research associate at Institute for Balkan Studies SASA and leader of COREnet Working Group “Narrative of migrations through the lenses of religious/non-religious beliefs”, Teodora Jovanovic (PhD), research associate at Ethnographic Institute SASA and Djordje Stojanovic (MA), research intern at Institute for Balkan Studies SASA.

The COST Action - “Connecting Theory and Practical Issues of Migration and Religious Diversity" (COREnet) - is an interdisciplinary network that aims to produce, exchange and build knowledge and collaborations across Europe on the topic of migration and religious diversity. Specifically, COREnet focuses on combining theoretical and practical issues at the intersection of migration and religious diversity with a particular emphasis on bottom-up research. The important part of the project is locally based narrative cafés (NC) where migrants have an opportunity to share their everyday narratives on religion and migration. The three NCs have been held so far in Ankara, Vienna and Belgrade. More information can be found on the website: ОДРЖАНА 17. ТРИБИНА ВУКОВЕ ЗАДУЖБИНЕ – Вукова задужбина (vukova-zaduzbina.rs)
