Round table "New Approaches in Multidisciplinary Research on the Balkans"
On Monday, October 24th at the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the Institute for Balkan Studies organized a round table "New Aproaches in Multidisciplinary Research on the Balkans".
The participants from the Institute for Balkan Studies at the round table were: director Vojislav G. Pavlović, PhD and the heads of working groups: Anemari Soresku-Marinković, PhD, Aleksandra Đurić-Milovanović, PhD, Valentina Živković, PhD and Dragana Nikolić, PhD.
In addition to the participants of the Institute for Balkan Studies, experts on the Balkans also participated in the round table:
Alberto Basciani (Alberto Basciani, University, Rome III), Luciano Monzali (University of Bari), Phokion Kotzageorgis (Aristotle University of Thessaloniki), Andrey Sobolev (Institute for Linguistic Studies, St Petersburg University), James Kapalo (University of Cork), Dimitar Illiev (University of Sofia), Petko Hristov (Institute of Ethnology and Folklore Studies, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Sofia) , Simeon Simeonov (Institute of Balkan Studies and Center of Thracology, Bulgarian Academy of Sciences, Sofia), Florin Turçanu (University of Bucharest) and Daniel Cain (Institut d'études sud- est européennes, Bucharest).
The discussions during the round table served to consider the possibilities for joint projects within the humanities with a focus on the Balkans, as well as for the establishment of even stronger connections between the institutions from which the experts come.
