International Conference on Romanian Studies in Timișoara
Annemarie Sorescu-Marinković, PhD and Aleksandra Djurić Milovanović, PhD, Senior Research Associates of the Institute for Balkan Studies of SASA, took part in the international conference of the Society for Romanian Studies, organized between June 15th to 17th in Timișoara, Romania.
The topic of this year’s conference was Borders and Transfers, and the organizers were the West University Timișoara and the National Art Museum in Timișoara. Sorescu-Marinković problematized the methodology of fieldwork research in the Romanian-speaking communities in the Balkans, within the framework of the panel Challenging the Imagined Cultural Frontiers – The Ethnographic Method in Recent Fieldresearches. Djurić Milovanović participated in the round table discussion The Study of Religion in and of Romania, where she presented research on the religion of Romanian communities outside Romania. The conference gathered numerous scholars and experts in Romanian studies across the world
