Announcement of the international conference “Minority languages and multilingualism in Serbia and Central and Eastern Europe”
The international conference “Minority languages and multilingualism in Serbia and Central and Eastern Europe” will be held on April 7-8, 2022, in Subotica. The conference is organized by the Institute for Balkan Studies SASA and the University of Oslo, supported by the Norwegian Research Council within the international project “Probing the Boundaries of the (Trans)National: Imperial Legacies, Transnational Literary Networks and Multilingualism in East Central Europe”.
On the first day of the conference, the participants will present on minority languages, and on the second day on minority literatures. In addition to the scientific program, the conference will include also two roundtables dedicated to minority languages in education and minority literatures in publishing and translation.
The guest of honor at the conference is academician Várady Tibor, whose books of documentary prose will be presented on that occasion.
The moderators of the conference are Dr. Marija Mandić, senior research associate of the Institute for Balkan Studies SASA, and Prof. Dr. Stijn Vervaet, University of Oslo.
