Associates of the Institute at the international scientific conference "V edizione dei Cantieri dell'Agiografia"
Associates of the Institute for Balkan Studies of SASA: Valentina Živković, PhD (principal research fellow), Marija Vasiljević, PhD (research associate), Ognjen Krešić, PhD (research associate) and Milena Davidović, MA (research assistant), participated with the panel Role of Hagiography in (Re) creation of the Memory of the Medieval Past in the Central Balkans (15th – 18th century) at the international scientific conference: V edizione dei Cantieri dell'Agiografia organized by the Associazione Italiana per lo Studio della Santità dei Culti e dell'Agiografia (AISSCA) in Rome and online from January 26 to 28, 2022.
Introductory remarks Il ruolo dell’agiografia nella (ri) creazione della memoria del passato medievale nei Balcani centrali was presented by V. Živković (panel leader); M. Davidović spoke about Preserving Memory of the Serbian Hagiographies in Late Medieval and Early Modern Scriptoria; the theme of M. Vasiljević's presentation was Remembering Medieval Past in Serbian Hagiographies Between the End of the 15th Century and the First Half of the 16th; while O. Krešić spoke about Hagiographies as Sources for Medieval Serbian History in 18th-Century Historiography. The panel was moderated by Barbara Crostini, a professor at The Newman Institute for Catholic Studies in Uppsala, Sweden.
