Contemporary Serbian Folkloristics 11
The international scientific conference “Contemporary Serbian Folkloristics 11”, organized by the Association of Folklorists of Serbia, was held in Tršić between October 1st and 3rd 2021. The two main topics of the conference were: “The Protection of the Intangible Cultural Heritage as Applied Science: Experiences and Challenges” and “Contemporary Folkloristics”. Forty-two researchers from Russia, Slovenia, Croatia and Serbia took part in the conference. Andjela Redžić, junior research assistant of the Institute for Balkan Studies, presented the paper titled “Ethnolinguistics and the Protection of Intangible Cultural Heritage. Carnival Torches in Sirinić”, in which she discussed new data related to this traditional custom, collected during her recent fieldwork in Sirinićka župa.
