France and Serbia in the Great War

On Tuesday 17th and Wednesday 18th October 2017 the Institute for Balkan Studies of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts will host the international scholarly conference on France and Serbia in the Great War. In three half-day sessions renowned French and Serbian historians will exchange views on key periods in the defence of Serbia in the Great War and in its re-liberation, with the support of allied forces on the Salonika front under the command of French generals from 1916 to 1918. Among the topics discussed will be the collaboration between French and Serbian civilians, most notably the reception of Serbian refugees (children, university students) in France.
