Christian Renewal Movements in the Global South in the 20th and 21st centuries
At the invitation of the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, the director of the Institute for Balkan Studies SASA, Dr. Dušan T. Bataković and research fellow Dr. Aleksandra Djurić Milovanović visited Israel from 26th until 31st of May 2017. They participated at the international scientific conference Christian Renewal Movements in the Global South in the 20th and 21st centuries: religious, social and political transformations. Dr. Bataković chaired the session Global Flows, Dialogue and Internationalization of Christianity, while Dr. Djurić Milovanović presented a paper entitled From South-east European Nazarenes to the Apostolic Christian Church: Migration and Transformation of one Christian Renewal Movement in the Global South. The international conference was organized by the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, The Harry S. Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace and The Martin Buber Society of Fellows in the Humanities. During the visit in Jerusalem, Dr. Bataković met with the acting director of the Harry S. Truman Research Institute Dr. Nissim Otmazgin with whom he signed a memorandum of cooperation between the two institutions in the field of migration and religious studies research.
