The 11th Congress of South-East European Studies

Under the auspices of Association internationale d’études du  sud-est européen (AIESEE), the 11^th Congress of South-East European Studies was held in Sofia, 31^st August-4^th September. Several members of the Institute for Balkan Studies, SASA, took part in the session European Traditions in the 19th and 20th Century in the Balkans – Continuity and Change: The Case of Serbia and submitted following papers: Dušan T. Bataković, French influences in building democracy in Serbia, 1839-1914; Dragan Bakić, Between Love and Hate: Yugoslavia, Bulgaria and Integral Yugoslavism in Interwar Europe; Veljko Stanić, European Cultural Models in Interwar Yugoslavia; Vojislav Pavlović, Tito's No to European integrations; Slobodan G. Markovich, Serbia and the accession to the EU after year 2000. Vladimir Petrović participated in the session Prolegomena to the European integration of South-East Europe and presented the paper The various aspects of the Roman communications in the triangle Timacum Maius, Ratiaria, Pautalia: new epigraphic and archaeological testimonies.
